Dr. Brahma Upputuri has completed his MBBS from Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, followed by post-graduation in Dermatology from the reputed Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad. He is an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and has entered the global network of outstanding physicians by obtaining the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), London.
He has over seven years of experience working as a consultant at Oliva Skin Clinic, Hyderabad, and previously worked for four years at the LEPRA-Blue Peter Public Health & Research Centre, Hyderabad. Dr. Brahma is an expert in managing hair fall, acne and acne scars, various pigmentary disorders, and laser treatments. He has also trained more than 100 dermatologists in procedural dermatology to date.
Dr. Brahma received an extramural research grant as a Principal Investigator from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Government of India, in 2019 for research on ulcer healing. He was further awarded the highly competitive Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), UK research grant in 2020 to work on drug-induced pigmentation.
He was selected for IADVL Dermatosurgery training at Calicut, as well as “GURUDERMA” - an IADVL Mentorship Program - to further expand his clinical expertise. He has also been selected as a member of the IADVL Task Force on Regenerative Medicine.
His impressive work has earned him several prestigious accolades, including the international “Strauss and Katz World Congress Fund Scholarship” from the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), USA. He also received DERMACON IADVL Scholarship, the ICMR-STS Award, and the ICMR Senior Research Fellowship (Medical).
Dr. Brahma has published over 20 articles and book chapters in reputed journals and textbooks and has presented his research at multiple state and national-level dermatology forums. He is a Life Member of the Indian Association of Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprology (IADVL).
