Dr. Brahma Upputuri has done MBBS from Dr. NTR University of health sciences, followed by Post Graduation in Dermatology from the prestigious Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad. He is an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). He has been working as a consultant at Oliva Skin Clinic and LEPRA-Blue Peter Public Health & Research Centre Hyderabad for six and half years. He is an expert in managing hair fall, acne & acne scars, various pigmentary disorders, and handling lasers. Dr. Brahma had received an extramural research grant as a Principal Investigator from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Government of India, in 2019 for research on ulcer healing.
Further, he has awarded the highly competitive Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) a UK research grant in 2020 to work on drug-induced pigmentation. He was selected for IADVL Dematosurgery training at Calicut and in ‘GURUDERMA : An IADVL Mentorship Program’ to expand his skills. Dr Brahma, has been selected a member of elite IADVL task force on Regenerative Medicine.
His impressive work has earned him the prestigious international dermatology scholarship, the ‘Strauss and Katz World Congress Fund Scholarship’ from AAD, United States. He was also a recipient of DERMACON IADVL Scholarship, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-STS award, and the ICMR-Senior Research Fellowship (Medical).
Dr. Brahma has published over 16 articles and chapters in various journals and textbooks; he has presented research work at multiple state and national level dermatology forums. He is a Life Member of the Indian Association of Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprology (IADVL).
